Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) funded study

Take part in our grant-funded study. We will provide you with a kit to test your dust, water, and soil for FREE. You will then receive an assessment of your body burden of metals by having your blood drawn by a trained professional and providing saliva and hair samples.

We will provide you with information on how to reduce lead hazards at home and a $75 gift card upon completing the entire study. All individual results are confidential.

Primary Study Objectives

Provide Soil/Dust samples from home

Provide Clinical and Biological Samples

Participants will provide soil and dust samples from their homes to assess lead contamination. Soil samples should be collected from high-risk areas, like near the home’s foundation or in the yard, while dust samples should come from surfaces inside the home, such as windowsills or floors. Soil samples should be collected from high-risk areas, like near the home’s foundation or in the yard, while dust samples should come from surfaces inside the home, such as windowsills or floors. Both types of samples will be analyzed to determine potential lead exposure risks in the home environment, helping to identify sources of contamination. Participants will receive detailed instructions and collection kits for both sample types.

Provide Water Samples from home

Provide Clinical and Biological Samples

Provide Soil/Dust samples from home

Participants in the study will be asked to provide water samples from their homes to assess potential lead contamination. This will help identify if their drinking water is a source of lead exposure. The water samples should be collected from a primary water source, such as the kitchen tap, where water is most frequently used for drinking and cooking.

Provide Clinical and Biological Samples

Participants will provide clinical and biological samples, including blood, saliva, and hair. These samples will be used to assess the participant's lead exposure levels and overall health status. The blood sample will be drawn by a certified nurse to measure lead concentration in the body. Saliva and hair samples will also be collected

Saliva and hair samples will also be collected to provide additional insights into long-term lead exposure.
